Ornaments: Rustic, Woodsy, and Pretty

I wanted to take a minute to thank you for your kind messages and donations from my last post about Benny. It means a lot to both of us, you don’t even know!  I’m happy to say that Benny is home safe and sound now and is in recovery mode from his surgery. He’s not 100% himself yet but he’s getting there and I can tell he is so happy to be back! I was watching him stare out the window today at the birds and had a little moment of gratefulness. I can’t even describe how it feels to know that we didn’t make the wrong decision and that this little animal who relies on us gets to continue to do what he likes to do… which is watch those silly birds. Anyways, I tend to get a little emotional about animals… I always have. If I could save every single one of them I would do it!

Have you decorated your Christmas tree yet? I feel like next year I need to break out of my traditional decorating routine and try something new.  I love these ornaments for their homey and rustic feel and especially love the idea of pretty white feathers thrown in to soften the mood. Since my tree is already up and finished, I think I’ll have to save these ideas for next year. Dustin always laughs at me because I colour coordinate our tree and tend to yap at him if he places a clashing ornament on it. Do you do this too? I love when a tree has a theme… be it a colour or a certain look. Ours is teal and gold, what about yours?
