Lighting can be expensive, which is why I decided to create my own outdoor solar lantern to add a little bit of character to my patio. This lantern is so easy to make and looks adorable when the darkness falls. I got the lantern from the local dollar store, but you can use any other type of candle holder, jar, vase, or object with an open top to create this custom light.
I used a frosted glass spray paint to help blur the string lights so they look like little fireflies. I think the muted feel totally gave the lantern that finishing touch!
The final result looks so great on an outdoor patio table or hanging from a tree. You could even create a bunch of them and line your walkway with a firefly glow. Or how about using them in your event or wedding decor? The options are endless!
Here are the supplies you’ll need to create the solar lantern:
- Solar String Lights (50 LED)
- Glass Frosting Spray Paint
- Candle Lantern
- Glue Gun
And here’s how I did it… so quick and easy!
