I’m so excited to share a fun diy with you today. I have recently taken an office job with my very own office space. As a creative, I sometimes struggle with creating an inspiring yet professional workspace. I think this modern mousepad is the perfect balance of both. And all the working girls said, Amen! Now lets get started!
S U P P L I E S :: foam, fabric, mod podge, sewing machine (optional)

1.) Start by cutting your foam into the shape you desire your mousepad to be. I chose a circle, but I think a hexagon would be fun too! You could trace the shape onto the foam, or just free hand it like I did. It doesn’t have to be perfect!
2.) Grab your mod podge and spread an even layer on your foam piece. You don’t need it to be too thick, and you want to make sure it’s even so it doesn’t create any unsightly bumps once we lay down our fabric.
3.) Lay your fabric face down, then place your foam on top (mod podge side down). Apply firm pressure and flip over. Use your hand to even out any bumps and secure the sides. At this point you can sew around the edges using your sewing machine, like I did. This will help keep your fabric from fraying over time, but it’s not necessary.
4.) Add some extra flair and use a Sharpie Paint Pen to decorate your fabric! I used a phrase from Project Runway that I knew would inspire me daily. We’re bound to make mistakes, but we just gotta Make it Work!
I hope you enjoy your new mousepad! We’d love to see how yours turn out!
